In a Friday speech at the Values Voters Summit, sponsored by the Family Research Council, Dr. Ben Carson compared ObamaCare to slavery.
"ObamaCare's the worst thing to happen to this nation since slavery. In a way, it is slavery because it is making all of us subservient to the Government."
"It (ObamaCare) was never about health care - it was all about control."
Dr. Carson, who has never run for political office, finished in 2nd place in the Presidential Straw poll at the Summit. Texas Senator Ted Cruz finished in 1st place.
In his speech, Carson touched on issues including abortion, "The War on Women", and marriage.
"We need to recognize that God created the family structure for a reason, and marriage is a sacred institution by God himself," Carson said.
Carson also urged American's to stand up to government.
"It's time - it's really time for the people - we, the people of America, to stop being afraid of the government and put it in its place."
