Congressman Boustany Won't Seek Landrieu's Seat

Republican Congressman Charles Boustany confirmed that he will not seek the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Mary Landrieu. Boustany has been encouraged to run, along with fellow Congressmen Bill Cassidy and John Fleming and Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne. Also rumored to be seeking the seat are former Congressman Jeff Landry and current BESE Chairman Chas Roemer.

Boustany recently beat Landry in the new 3rd Congressional District and, like his fellow Congressmen, would be required to relinquish his seat if he runs for the Senate.
